Wadu Caves
South Male’ Atoll
Distance: 15 min
Location: Wadu Channel, North side of Wadu Island
Depth: 8 – 17 m
This drop has many small overhangs and huge caves on both ends. The roof of those caves is covered all over with blue, yellow and orange soft corals. This is a top place for photographers (Yellow face Angelfishes, Clown Trigger fishes, large Groupers, huge Napoleon fish).

Embudu Canyon
South Male’ Atoll
Distance: 40 min
Location: Wadu Channel, opposite to Embudu Island
Depth: 12 – 17 m
A large portion of the drop off has fallen down, creating a very interesting canyon. The top part, which has fallen down, has plenty of life corals. If there is strong current, sharks and masses of Snappers stay above the canyon. A big school of Oriental Sweetlipfishes is on the edge of the reef.
Probably this place has now the nicest corals at Wadu Channel area. Since 2 years the corals are growing extremely well at the canyon.

Kudaa Haa (The Hill)

The Scuba diving pioneers (Lotte and Hans-Hass) have dived several times there.
The drop off is fully covered with small overhangs, which house a wide variety of reef fishes. Top place for photographers!

Velassaru Corner
South Male’ Atoll
Distance: 10 min
Location: Wadu Channel, opposite to Laguna Maldives
Depth: 10 – 27 m
Drop off with huge caves beyond 20 m. On the reef platform there are three very big coral blocks, where a lot of Snappers and big schools of Oriental Sweetlipfishes stay.

Lionshead
North Male’ Atoll
Protected Marine Area!
Distance: 35 min
Location: Wadu Channel, Westside of Thilafushi Island
Depth: 8 – 15 m
The cave at Westside is an ideal place for watching sharks and the big school of Red Snappers, especially if there is a strong current. Under the overhangs a big school of Oriental Sweetlipfishes is hiding.

Kuda Giri Wreck
South Male´ Atoll
Distance: 65 min
Location: next to Dhigufinolhu Island
The deck – between 20 and 30 m – is covered with a lot of nice corals. On the walls of the Giri are plenty overhangs and caves, so it is very interesting to do the safety stop there. It is also an ideal place to take photos from batfishes, which come very close. Jack fish schools are usually hunting there for fusilier fishes.
